CRO
Conversion rate optimisation: find where people drop off, understand why, and design the fix. More sales from the visitors you already have.
What conversion rate optimisation is#
Your conversion rate is the share of visitors who do what you hoped: buy, book, sign up or get in touch. CRO is the work of raising it, not with tricks or pressure, but by removing what gets in the way.
Most stores and sites lose people for ordinary reasons: a product page that does not answer the obvious question, a filter that hides the right size, a checkout that asks for an account, a form that fails on a phone. Each one is small. Together they are often the difference between a site that pays for itself and one that does not.
Why design-led CRO works#
Many CRO programmes test button colours. The bigger gains come from understanding the decision a customer is trying to make and designing the page around it: what they need to see, in what order, and what reassures them enough to act.
That is design work, backed by data. I combine analytics, session recordings and customer research with the UX and ecommerce design I do every day, so recommendations come with designed solutions, not just a list of problems.
Where I look first#
Product listing pages#
How people browse and narrow down: categories, filters, sorting, and whether the grid shows enough to choose from.
Product detail pages#
Images, price, variants, delivery and returns, reviews and size guidance. The page has to answer every question a customer would ask in a shop.
Cart and checkout#
Guest checkout, payment options, delivery costs shown early, error handling and trust at the moment of paying.
Mobile experience#
Most traffic and most drop-off happens on phones. Tap targets, form inputs, page speed and sticky actions get special attention.
Measured, not guessed#
Every recommendation is tied to a number we can watch. Where traffic allows, changes are A/B tested so we know what worked. Where it does not, we roll out in stages and compare before and after. You get a clear record of what changed, why, and what it did.

Prioritised A/B test ideas with hypotheses, success measures and the traffic needed.
- 06
Results report
What was tested, what won and what it is worth, with the next round of ideas.
How we work#
CRO works as a cycle. The first round, from audit to designed fixes, usually takes three to four weeks; ongoing testing runs month by month.
Measure
Week 1Analytics and tracking are checked and fixed if needed, so we start from numbers we can trust. The funnel is mapped and the biggest leaks identified.
Understand
Weeks 1–2Session recordings, heatmaps, surveys and a few customer conversations explain why people leave at each step.
Prioritise
Week 2Every issue is scored by impact, confidence and effort. We agree on the first set of changes together.
Design and test
Weeks 3–4Fixes are designed and handed to your developers, then launched as A/B tests or staged rollouts.
Learn and repeat
MonthlyResults are read, winners are kept, and what we learned feeds the next round.
Questions#
How much traffic do I need for CRO?
A/B testing needs enough traffic to reach reliable results, usually a few thousand visitors a month to the pages being tested. With less traffic, CRO still works: the audit and research find clear problems, and fixes are measured before and after instead of tested side by side.
How soon will I see results?
Obvious fixes found in the audit can improve results within weeks of going live. Testing programmes build value over months, as each round compounds on the last.
Which platforms do you work with?
Shopify, WooCommerce, custom stores and lead-generation sites. The principles are the same; I adapt recommendations to what your platform and developers can do.
Do you guarantee a conversion increase?
No honest CRO specialist can guarantee a number before seeing your data. What I can promise is a clear method, prioritised work and transparent reporting, so you always know what was changed and what it achieved.
How much does CRO cost?
A one-off audit with designed fixes is a fixed price based on the size of your site. Ongoing optimisation is a monthly retainer. You get exact numbers after a short call about your goals and traffic.
Do you work with clients outside Kerala?
I am based in Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala, and work with teams across India and abroad. Most work happens remotely over shared Figma files and short calls; for teams in Kerala I am happy to meet in person for workshops and research.
Know where your customers drop off?
Share your site and what you would like to improve. I will tell you honestly whether CRO is the right next step.
